In this full year class, your child will develop a solid foundation for higher level mathematics in a lively, joyful small group setting.
Whether you are classical, Charlotte Mason, or just looking for a math class with spark, this pre-algebra course will cover a lot of mathematical ground through discussion, collaboration, and independent practice. We will experience math as a living subject!
This course takes an integrated approach to mathematics, so we will cover topics like:
- Arithmetic
- Fractions, decimals, percentages
- Geometry
- Probability and Statistics
- Logic
We will also introduce linear equations.
Pre-algebra meets twice weekly online on Mondays and Wednesdays at 12:15 EST. Lessons last 55 minutes. Students will receive homework assignments to support learning in between lessons. I also set regular assessments. I include individualized feedback on this work throughout the year.
Class size is limited to eight students so that everyone can fully participate.
The cost for this course is $670/£500. This includes 32 weeks of twice weekly classes, personalized feedback, and individualized support. I’m pleased to offer a 10% discount when the class is paid for in full before 31 July. Otherwise, a deposit of $67/£50 will secure your spot, followed by nine payments of $67/£50 due on the first of the month beginning 1 August.
