I hold a BSc in Applied Mathematics from Purdue University and an MA in Education with Distinction from Lancaster University. I began tutoring as a university student, and have since returned to the field in person and online. Additionally, I am a home educating parent and have had many years of experience in teaching mathematics one to one!
I am originally from Indiana and went through the public school system there. That means I have experience of the high school diploma, SATs, and everything that entails! Since then I have relocated to the UK and have had the opportunity to learn the British education system. I’m able to support students following the National Curriculum through GCSE level.
My approach to teaching has been inspired largely by education reformer Charlotte Mason. I firmly believe that math is a living subject: it has the ability to help students think, learn, and grow. Consequently, my lessons include illustrating mathematical concepts, looking for patterns, and giving students the opportunity to make connections for themselves.
My focus is upper elementary through middle school, algebra I and II, and geometry (US). In the UK, upper primary students through GCSE level.
I run sessions over Zoom.
I am based in Lancaster, UK and have extremely limited availability for in person lessons; however, please do get in touch if you are interested.
